Local Partners
It is important to PalCH that it works with local organisations as they are very familiar with the situation and know where help is most urgently needed.
Our Partner in the Lebanon
The National Institution of Social Care and Vocational Training
(NISCVT)
NISCVT was founded in 1976 as Beit Atfal Assumoud by the Palestinian Women’s Union as well as by Palestinian and Lebanese citizens in order to help the orphaned children from the Palestinian refugee camp Tell Zaatar which was destroyed during the Lebanese civil war.
Many NISCVT workers were able to benefit as children from the support provided and now help others. They pass on information about the most needy children to be sponsored and ensure contact through letters between the sponsored children and their sponsors.

Dar
Assalam - House of Peace
Dar Assalam is a guest house in Wardaniyeh close to Sidon and is in existence since April 1994. It is supported by an Association of Patrons. After the civil war the house was founded as a contribution towards the restoration of the country and as an intercultural foundation. It is intended as a meeting place for people from European and Arabic cultural environments.
We work together with “Dar Assalam” for intercultural trips because in addition to taking part in the cultural tour programmes, participants can also meet and have discussions with representatives of the various social groups connected with the Palestinian refugees.

Palestinian Working Women’s Society for Development
(PWWSD)
The women’s organisation PWWSD was called into being as an NGO in 1981 through the Union of Palestinian Working Women’s Committee.
Its major aim is the active involvement of women in the creation of a democratic Palestinian society.
As a women’s organisation, PWWSD supports exclusively women. In this way they arrange sponsorship for school children and students and letter contact to them. However, because of the current political situation in the occupied territories, it is often very difficult to maintain this contact.

“The nation’s tent” – People build bridges
In August 2000 the Swiss circle of friends known as “The nation’s tent” was founded with the aim of establishing a meeting camp predominantly for young people on the land of the Nasser family. To this end a piece of land was leased: Dahers Vineyard. The purpose of the camp is to put together peaceful facts against the occupation politics and expropriation of Palestinian land through the Israeli army and settlers. The project “The nation’s tent” will support and organise peace gatherings for youths and adults from Palestine, Israel and other countries.

Foundation for Health and Social Development (Juzoor)
Juzoor means roots in Arabic. Juzoor works towards improving the health system in Palestine through the establishment of medical services in remote villages. As road blocks heavily restrict the people’s freedom of movement, and they therefore are often unable to reach hospitals in good time, an emergency telephone service for doctors and midwives has been installed. In parallel, Juzoor offers training courses for home births and other difficult treatment. The organisation networks with UNO and local health organisations in Palestine.
